Living with an Adult Gen Z Creator

Classic Female Icons

Since my twenties, I have always been a fan of Audrey Hepburn’s movies. My ultimate favorites are Roman Holiday, Sabrina, Wait Until Dark, The Nun’s Story and the all time classic Breakfast at Tiffany.

Another female fashion icon I have been fascinated with, since my twenties, is Coco Chanel. In my opinion, she is an example of classic, elegance and innovator. I love how she broke the female fashion mold and designed pants for women to wear when it was taboo.

Beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself.

Coco Chanel

From my office. Say hello to my expensive “realish” Chanel handbag that was undetected by the trained Chanel Rep’s eye.

Bear with me, I have a point for mentioning these women.

Coffee Table Books

After weeks of selecting a console table, I finally found a home for two of my favorite coffee table books, which are Life’s “Remembering Audrey 15 Years Later” and “Chanel” books. I also restyled my end tables and included books. See, how I did that … joined the two.. I told you to bear with me. 🙂

The next morning, I wake-up and head to the kitchen to start my morning ritual: open the kitchen curtains, turn on the kettle for my hot lemon water and make coffee. “Shooketh” I’m greeted with Audrey Hepburn’s eyes glaring at me.

For a split second, I began to doubt my sanity, “I do not recall styling the book in this manner. Did I have a lapse of memory?” NO WAY! I glance around and the other tablescapes have also changed. OH VEY! There is only one person responsible for this antic, smarty pants Lauryn-Berry!

I exclaimed, “Lauryn!” and the house filled with laughter; I couldn’t help to also laugh. Her explanation for the change was it looks better with the book covers on the books and stacked on the coffee table. Since I wanted a book on the console table, she placed “The 15 Years Celebrating Audrey Hepburn” book only, on the console table, under the ginger jar ensuring she does not cover up her face. OH VEY! 🤦🏾‍♀️

Now, I have to tell you this girl is creative and has a photogenic eye. Deep down in that chemist, mathematician soul of hers lives an artist. So, when she gives her opinion on tablescaping and designing, this mama listens. 🥰

Since this is her home too, we compromised; the Chanel book is back on the console (no cover) with the Audrey book. The other books are stacked on the coffee table.
